Struggling with KPLC outages during London session - what's your backup setup?

Wadau, has anyone else been having a nightmare with these random KPLC blackouts lately? I've lost two potential setups this week because my fiber router died right when the London session opened.

I'm currently looking to invest in a reliable power backup. Specifically, I'm considering:

  • A decent UPS (looking at APC or Vertiv)
  • A solar power bank for the router
  • Switching to a 5G backup router

What are you guys using to stay online? Especially those of you trading full-time from home—I can't afford these slippages anymore!

Pole sana bro, niko huku Coast na stima pia inatuhangaisha sana. Don't waste money on cheap UPS units, hazitakusaidia sana. I invested in a 100Ah deep cycle battery with an inverter purely for my desk and router. It keeps me going for 6-8 hours without KPLC. For internet, always have a Safaricom 5G router as backup—Airtel ni gamble saa zingine.

For the router, just get a mini UPS from Jumia or those shops in Luthuli Ave. They are cheap (around 3k-4k) and they keep the router on for like 5 hours. For the PC, if you have the budget, get a proper EcoFlow power station. It’s expensive but zero noise and zero maintenance compared to a generator or heavy battery setup.

I feel you. If you are doing prop firm challenges like FTMO, you absolutely cannot afford a disconnect. I use a UPS specifically for my monitor and PC, but the game changer was a mobile hotspot with a dedicated M-Pesa data plan bundle. If KPLC cuts out, I switch in 5 seconds. Don't risk a blown funded account just because of power!
